The Founders Award

At every Gala, we honor an individual who has made significant contributions to the DFSF with The Founder's Award.

The Founder's Award recognizes an individual or individuals for vision and generous commitment of resources, energy and time for the benefit of Dobbs Ferry Schools. Recipients have their names engraved on a plaque that is on permanent display in the entrance to Dobbs Ferry High School.

 

The DFSF inaugurated the Founder's Award at the 2001: An Education Odyssey Gala. The first honorees were the 16 Individuals who established the Foundation in 1994. Their incredible energy, hard work, and vision laid the groundwork for the successful fundraising organization the DFSF has become today. 

 

Our  founding members include: Judy Blackwell-Konowitch, Richard Cohen, Robert Cohen, Melanie Dobbs, Sally Hammond, Judy Gluckstern, Richard Jacobs, James McCarthy, Stone Phillips, Bernard Schneider, Frances Schneider, Arlene Shaw, Richard Sitman, Eric Sobel, Paul Sterne, and Joe Valvano.

 

Every recipient of the DFSF Founder's Award has brought unique and important talents to the Dobbs Ferry school district.  These individuals have brought our school district to new heights!  Thank you, Founders Award winners, for all you have done for our schools and for our students!
